Submissions in English or French on any topic related to early modern philosophy (roughly, the period going from Montaigne to Kant) are welcome for the 11th Quebec Seminar in Early Modern Philosophy / Séminaire québécois en philosophie moderne.

The time allotted for paper presentations will be 35-40 minutes, with 30 minutes of discussion. It is requested that all participants are sufficiently bilingual in order to understand the presentations in the other language.

Paper proposals of about 500 words should be submitted no later than May 1st, 2025 to syliane.charles@uqtr.ca.

Co-organizers: Syliane Malinowski-Charles (UQTR) and Babette Chabout-Combaz (U. de Sherbrooke).

Travelers from abroad should reserve a flight to Montreal and then take a bus (www.orleansexpress.com) or a car to go to Trois-Rivières (ca. 2 hours), a city situated half-way between Montreal and Quebec City.  It should be noted that all travel and accommodation expenses will be at the participants’ charge; however, for the time of the conference, lunches will be provided, as well as one of the dinners.

In addition, participants will be able to submit their paper to an electronic journal specialized in EMP, the Studia de Philosophia Moderna.
