The next congress of the Canadian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies will be held in Regina, Saskatchewan, from October 15 to 18, 2025, under the theme "Trans/Formations: Crossing Boundaries, Blurring Borders." Deadline for submitting a paper proposal: March 31, 2025.

Ce colloque souhaite engager une discussion autour d’une thématique singulière – le portrait – dans une perspective transhistorique, transdisciplinaire et transmédiale, ceci afin de réfléchir collectivement à sa définition et aux problématiques soulevées par son corpus aux origines séculaires. Il s’agira d’étudier les nombreuses théories et formes de la pratique portraitiste et d’en mesurer les enjeux épistémologiques, esthétiques, sociaux, politiques et médiatiques sur le temps long, sans contrainte temporelle ou géographique.

CSECS YouTube Channel Update

The Canadian Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies set up a YouTube channel in 2022. In the wake of our new Online Speaker Series, we plan to add videos to this channel on a regular basis, to present research from our members, as well as discussions and debates that may be of interest for researchers and the public at large.
